What are the objectives of my invention?

• To provide canned drink users with the benefit of being able to reseal their drink.
• To enable users to carry canned beverages during consumption without worry of spilling.
• To provide users with protection from bee and wasp stings.
• To lengthen the freshness of canned drinks via resealing.
• Provide advertisers a new vehicle to target canned drink users with advertising messages and sweepstakes offers. (Advertising messaging can include hidden codes, prizes, logos, branding, websites, scent, flavor and other messaging technologies.)
• To offer beverage producers with a cost effective and novel way to introduce new product.

What problem or problems does my invention solve?

• Stale beverages from opened cans.
• Bee and wasp stings from opened cans can cause injury or death.
• Cans can be carried after opening without worry of spilling.
• Advertisers can reach beverage consumers with specific messages according to type of beverage, geographic location, etc.

How does my invention solve the problem or problems?

• Problems are solved by the resealing function as well as the hidden advertising billboard which resides on the rotating disk.
• The cost of production is offset by advertising revenues.

How does my invention differ from already patented or made inventions?

• There are no resealable soda cans currently in widespread use, hence any resealable soda can is currently a highly unique invention.
• The Soda Wheel invention is unique because:
  1. It uses a hidden disk to reseal the can.
  2. It uses screw grooves to tighten the seal as it is closed.
  3. It contains high resolution, full color advertising billboard space, which is revealed only after opening and resealing the soda can.
  4. After assembly of the Soda Wheel can end, it is shipped to the filler where it is filled according to the standard filling processes and machinery.
  5. It maintains the basic size of the standard soda can making it consistent with current packaging.

What improvements or new features are part of my invention?

• Resealable disk via thumbwheel.
• Advertising billboard.

How does my invention work or what process steps are involved?

• The Soda Wheel is opened in the same manner as a standard soda can via the ring pull and scored "breakaway" opening.
• After opening, the Soda Wheel can be resealed by turning the highly visible "thumbwheel" disk.
• As the disk is turned, a full-color, high resolution advertising message becomes visible.
• After being fully tightened, the thumbwheel disk provides an air-tight seal and the advertising message is fully visible.
• The Soda Wheel can is re-opened and/or re-sealed by simply turning the thumbwheel.

What are the uses of my invention?

• To provide beverage can users with the ability to re-seal their beverage can.
• To provide advertisers with a new advertising vehicle to target beverage consumers.
• To provide the manufacturer with advertising revenues to offset the cost of producton.
